In Amsterdam, by luck, I met Lino Hellings. She advised me to keep my work diary on-line, exposing my work methods rather than protecting them, risking the humiliation involved in failure. So:celebrate error. In my heart I knew this to be a good idea. My brain, horrified, fortunately tells me it will be too boring for anyone to read.

amazing how disruptive a trip away is. Still managing the lag... waiting in for electrician, plumber, all the stuff that goes belly up when not attended. And I haven't finished unpacking nor cooking, for alas it is my turn. Deeps breaths. There is no urgency.

Job done... possibility of residency which is a worry. Feel too ill with what is hopefully an emerging cold to consider what must be addressed next.
Stuff left ready in the studio is OK I think. The depressing qualities that should be there but aren't are absent because of the name of the work; the 6th extinction. It allows for the possibility of a 7th emergence.
Im guessing.

all unnaturally jolly.
But palette cleaned and I'm ready to go to London tomorrow. It'll seem different when I return, no doubt.

Been in Rivel today, learning Kimono and Japanese cultural art - fascinating. Also enjoyed village church. Then had to shape up for strangers... what do you paint? Flowers? Ha, tempting!
Heard myself explaining about the 6th extinction and figured thats what Im painting.
Didn't go down awfully well. 'How interesting, I'd love to see some one day.'
Oh well, Id better start working on the story :(

Been so pretty, every thing I'm doing; pretty pretty pretty. So I badded one up and now its frightening me.
Hardly any time to deal with it, perhaps fortunately. Yesterday drove across the Aude to pick up a parrot cage and today cleaned and installed it.
Probably skip drawing tomorrow... only a few days before I go to London and want a stack of wet stuff drying while I'm away.

got round to snapping this, l do like the black - but still having trouble trying to get things sinister enough.
But no shows looming, none of it matters.
Current pic can dry out a bit tomorrow, we are off across the county to pick up a new bird cage.

So enjoying this. Have a deal with Bob whereby we do a 3 day trick each - so he cooks and shops for 3 days, then I do - missing 7th is au restro. Marvellous having three whole clear days and then a stuttering other 3.
Painting is so seductive, keep doing things l love and have to make myself hammer them out of shape. Dealing with rising water levels at the moment, which has become just beautiful.
Got a date for the unveiling at the athenaeum and find Im very scared. No such thing as a free lunch... with the chairman and the arts committee. My sweet sister is coming so she'll help take the heat. Nothing to wear and they've sent a dress code, lala.
